The Evolution of Prada Glasses Through the Decades

Image Credit: Pexels

{This is a collaborative post}

Fashion changes quickly, but some brands manage to evolve without losing their identity. Prada is one of them. Over the years, Prada glasses have moved from understated sophistication to bold contemporary statements, all while maintaining a distinctive design. Each decade reflects shifts in culture, materials, and style preferences, yet the brand’s core aesthetic remains instantly recognisable.

From Classic Elegance to Contemporary Edge

In earlier decades, Prada eyewear reflected refined simplicity. Frames leaned toward clean lines, neutral tones, and balanced proportions. The focus was subtle luxury rather than loud branding. These early designs complemented tailored fashion trends of the time, aligning with structured silhouettes and polished aesthetics.

As fashion entered more experimental eras, Prada glasses began to mirror that shift. Frames grew bolder, shapes became more architectural, and colour choices expanded. Oversized silhouettes, geometric lines, and thicker acetate frames gained popularity. The brand embraced contemporary design without abandoning its sense of restraint.

This evolution shows how Prada adapts to changing fashion landscapes while maintaining a cohesive identity. Rather than chasing trends, Prada reinterprets them through its own design philosophy.

Iconic Frames That Shaped Eyewear Trends

Certain Prada frames have left a lasting mark on eyewear fashion. In the 1990s and early 2000s, slim rectangular shapes became widely popular. These minimalist styles influenced everyday eyewear choices and appeared frequently in fashion editorials.

Later, oversized frames defined another era. Large, expressive shapes aligned with a broader shift toward statement accessories. Prada helped normalize bold eyewear as a central fashion piece rather than a subtle addition.

Cat-eye silhouettes also saw renewed attention through Prada’s reinterpretation. By refining classic shapes with modern materials and proportions, the brand reshaped how vintage-inspired glasses could feel fresh again.

Today, when people browse collections of  Prada glasses, they often notice how certain shapes feel both nostalgic and current. That balance is part of why these designs continue to influence broader eyewear trends.

How Mums Can Dress Up Nicely For Autumn

Image Credit: UnSplash

{This is a collaborative post}

If you’re a mum, you probably think quite a bit about how you can dress differently, based on the time of year. You want to look your best as the seasons change and really make the most of the experience. But how do you do this in a way that makes sense? What should you be paying attention to?

That’s where this post comes in handy. It explores how mums like you can really go to town and create the best outfit as the seasons change and we move toward the colder months of the year.

Layer With A Chunky Sweater

You’ll want to start your sartorial adventure with a chunky sweater, the most obvious sign that the seasons are changing and you need a change of tone. Adding this keeps you warm and reminds you that life goes in cycles. Things aren’t the same the whole time. Chunky sweaters are a great option, no matter what you’re doing, whether you’re taking the kids on a cold school run or spending the morning in an icy church pew. Once you have your trusted knit sweater, you’re ready to take on the world and start enjoying the changes that the new weather is bringing.

Put On An Oversized Blazer

You can combine your sweater with an oversized blazer if you want. These are great and help you get that polished look that a lot of people want as the weather changes as the focus on work becomes more extreme. Oversized blazers are a form of layering and one of the best options for formal occasions. These allow you to upsell any outfit and be more “smart-casual” than you’d otherwise be. They also let you attend events and conferences without having to pack an entire pantsuit if you don’t want to. A blazer can make almost any underlying outfit acceptable.

Add A Scarf

While it might seem simple, adding a scarf can have an enormous effect on how you feel as we head into autumn, while making you a more stylish mum at the same time. Because they’re so close to the neck, they have an outsized effect on keeping you warm, even more so than gloves. What's more, you can wear a scarf in a variety of ways. It can even work indoors, complementing your outfit and making you feel like you’re a million bucks. Tying it differently allows you to explore your creative side and how it pairs with other accessories that you might have in your vanity.

Try A Plaid Miniskirt

You might also want to experiment with a plaid miniskirt. These aren’t necessarily practical, but they feel seasonal, especially when worn in pumpkin patches. If you want to stay feeling warm, add some leggings. Make sure you’re wrapping yourself up nice and cosy so you don’t wind up freezing yourself and generally feeling awful whenever you go out. You can also wear plaid with a turtleneck sweater to keep you toasty on long walks in the cold when the wind is biting at you. This option is ideal if you don’t like the idea of wearing a scarf but you still value your core temperature.

Wear Some Chelsea Boots

Another idea is to put on some Chelsea boots. These are handy because they offer thicker material and cover your ankles so you’re not standing in the biting cold all the time. Again, if you pair these with leggings and some trousers, you can really keep yourself warm, even in some of the coldest weather that might come along in November. Chelsea boots have the benefit of being highly flattering for your figure. They elongate the legs and make you feel so much taller, which is a nice touch. You can also get them with raised platforms if you need a little extra height, which can come in surprisingly handy.

Tie A Flannel Shirt

If you’re in the mood to look a little rustic, you could also try tying yourself a flannel shirt. It might sound old-fashioned, but, of course, what goes around often comes around. Tying your shirt at the waist is a great idea and gives you a sort of rustic vibe. It’s also a great choice if you’re a fashion-forward kind of mum who really wants to show off her figure. Flannel is the best material for this during the autumn. It’s a sign that you’ve left the bright colors of the summer behind.

Pair Wide-Leg Trousers

What about wide-leg trousers? Those are also an option for the autumn months when the leaves on the trees start to turn orange, red and brown. You can match these with your ankle boots if you want to mark a transition from your summer wardrobe. Pay close attention to how this change makes you feel. You’d be surprised by just what a massive difference it can make to your outlook and approach to the weather.

Add Glare-Reducing Glasses

The autumn is a time of the year when glare can be high due to the position of the sun in the sky. Therefore, you might want to buy glasses online with the appropriate shade. Glare reduction makes it easier to concentrate when you’re at your computer while also cutting down on eyestrain if you’re doing a lot of driving. Glasses can be stylish in their own right. You can use them as accessories if you’re trying to look more sophisticated.

Add Corduroy Pants

Finally, if you really feel like pushing the boat out and leaning into the autumnal spirit, you should opt for corduroy pants. This material is the ultimate in seasonal fashion and, thanks to its layering, keeps you warm. Corduroy is the ultimate rustic style for this time of year as well. It has a kind of earthy feel about it that makes it nothing like anything else out there. Try it and see how it feels on you. So there you have it: how mums can dress up for autumn. Which of these options will you try?

How to Help Your Mom Find the Perfect Outfit for Your Wedding

Image Credit: Freepik

{This is a collaborative post}

Helping your mom find the right outfit for your wedding can feel like a big step in planning your special day. It’s about more than just picking a pretty dress—it’s about making sure she feels comfortable and confident as she stands by your side. The best way to help your mom is to share details about your wedding, like the theme, colors, and style, so she can choose something that matches the event and still lets her personality shine.

Letting your mom know what the bridal party will wear helps her find a look that fits in without blending in too much. Think about the colors, and suggest she picks a shade that stands out from the bridesmaids, but still coordinates with the wedding. Small personal touches and a focus on comfort will help your mom feel like herself while celebrating your big moment.

Your mom’s outfit should also suit the season, venue, and how formal your wedding is. With a little guidance and open communication, you can make shopping together a fun part of your wedding planning experience.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Mother-of-the-Bride Outfit

Helping your mom choose what to wear on your wedding day takes thought, early planning, and good communication. The right dress makes her feel comfortable, matches the wedding style, and blends nicely in photos.

Dress Shopping Strategies Together

Shopping for a mother-of-the-bride outfit goes more smoothly when you help from the start. Set a shopping day a few months before the wedding to allow time for ordering and any tailoring. Bring along fabric swatches or photos of your dress and the bridesmaid dresses. That way, you both know which colors and materials work best and avoid anything too similar or clashing.

It is helpful to discuss the formality and theme of your wedding before browsing outfits. Is it a formal evening, an outdoor garden party, or a casual beach gathering? Dress choices should match the event. Many stores offer mother of the bride dresses in a variety of colors and sizes, which means your mom can find something flattering no matter her style or body shape.

Ask your mom what styles make her feel confident. Respect her preferences but give feedback on color or fit when needed. A supportive attitude makes the process special for both of you.

Best Dress Styles for Mothers

Your mom doesn't need to look like a bridesmaid or dress in the same color. She can choose a dress that shows her personality while still respecting the overall theme. Floor-length gowns, knee-length dresses, and tailored suits are all popular choices for mothers. The key is picking something that fits her body comfortably and enhances her confidence.

Sleeve length and necklines offer flexibility based on the season and her comfort level. For traditional weddings, long sleeves and classic cuts work well. For summer events, short sleeves or light fabrics are good. If the event is less formal, a tasteful cocktail dress is also appropriate.

When deciding on style, avoid anything too flashy or too casual. Aim for a polished look that doesn’t outshine the bride but still feels special. Simple details like lace, beading, or a flattering belt can add elegance.

Accessory and Color Guidance

Accessories help complete the whole look but should not overwhelm the outfit. A simple clutch, low-heeled shoes, and subtle jewelry are enough for most weddings. Avoid large or noisy accessories that might be distracting.

Color choice matters for the photos and the event’s color scheme. Jewel tones, navy, or pastels often work well. It’s best if your mom’s dress color complements your dress and the wedding party. Avoid pure white, ivory, or loud, neon colors unless you say it’s okay. Metallics like silver or gold add class without stealing attention.

Ask your mom to coordinate with any other family members to make sure outfits don't match too closely or clash. If in doubt, stick to timeless colors and choose accessories that match the mood of the celebration.

Understanding Your Mom’s Role and Preference

Finding the right outfit for your mom starts with knowing her taste, considering her comfort, and making sure her dress fits in with your wedding style. A thoughtful approach helps your mom feel confident and included on your special day.

Recognizing Her Style

Your mom likely has a distinct sense of style that reflects her personality and history. Pay attention to the colors, fabrics, and shapes she usually wears to formal events. Some mothers prefer classic silhouettes, like A-line or sheath dresses, while others enjoy a more modern or bohemian look.

When shopping together, ask her direct questions, such as what she likes most about her favorite outfits. You could also look at pictures from previous family celebrations to get ideas. Look for patterns in her wardrobe choices, such as a love for lace, bold prints, or understated elegance.

List of common mother of the bride attire styles:

  • A-line gowns for a classic touch
  • Tea-length dresses for a casual look
  • Elegant pant suits for those who prefer pants
  • Embellished jackets or shawls for added flair

Respecting her style will help her feel herself on your wedding day.

Respecting Personal Comfort and Needs

Comfort matters just as much as style. Age, body type, and personal preferences all play a role in what will feel good to wear for hours. Some mothers may prefer sleeves or higher necklines, while others like softer fabrics that move easily.

If your mom values comfort, look for dresses with stretchy materials or adjustable details. Consider practicality as well, like ease of movement and suitable footwear. You can also help her think about the weather and length of the ceremony or reception, as these factors affect comfort.

Make a list together of “must-haves,” such as:

  • Fabric that doesn’t itch or bind
  • Heel height that feels natural
  • Coverage for arms or legs if she prefers
  • Ability to sit, stand, and dance easily

Prioritizing these factors makes the day more enjoyable for her.

Coordinating With Wedding Themes

The color and formality of the wedding should guide the final outfit decision. Share your wedding palette and style—such as rustic, formal, or beachy—with your mom early on so she can imagine how her look will fit in.

Suggest specific shades that complement your bridesmaids’ dresses but don't match them exactly. Neutral colors like silver, navy, champagne, or blush often work well for mother of the bride attire. If your wedding features bold or unique colors, help your mom pick a dress that harmonizes without overpowering the scene.

Make sure to discuss details like length and embellishment. If your event is casual, a simple tea-length dress may be best. For formal settings, she might choose a floor-length gown with tasteful beading. Sharing details about the day’s theme and colors will help your mom feel confident and part of the celebration.

Yes, Mums Can Wear Cropped Tees Too: Here’s How to Style Them with Confidence

{This is a collaborative post}

Ah, the world of fashion! Ever evolving, constantly changing, and eternally exciting! One such trend that’s been making waves in the fashion scene of late is the ‘cropped tee’. Once solely the domain of younger generations, this trend has surprisingly found enthusiastic takers among more mature women too. And why not? We firmly believe that age is just a number and you should dress in what you feel comfortable and confident in. And yes, Mums can embrace the cropped tee trend too. Here’s how to style cropped t-shirts for women of all ages with absolute panache and confidence.

Match with High-Waisted Bottoms

The golden rule of wearing any cropped item and making it look good is to always pair it with high-waisted trousers, jeans or skirts. This way, your midriff isn’t overly exposed and you’re left with an aesthetically pleasing balance of skin show and coverage that's just right. It's perfect for those who are new to this trend or who are a bit nervous about baring the midriff area.

Play with the Length of your Cropped Tee

Not all cropped tees are created equal. Some are cut slightly longer and more “boxy”, while others are shorter and more “fitted”. Experiment and find what suits your body type and comfort level best. A longer, boxy crop tee can be flattering for many mums, providing a modern, trendy look without being overly revealing.

Select the Right Fabric and Print

When it comes to effectively pulling off cropped t-shirts for women, fabric and print play a critical role. A structured fabric like cotton or linen can offer a more sophisticated, tailored look, making the crop tee appear less casual. As for prints, consider dimensions and your personal style. Stripes can provide a modern, geometric appeal, while floral patterns add a feminine, whimsical touch.

Layer it Up

If you’re still feeling a little unsure about rocking a cropped tee, don’t fret. A tried-and-true styling trick is layering. Throw on a blazer or cardigan over your cropped tee to give it a chic and sophisticated touch. Alternatively, wear your cropped tee over a longer blouse or camisole for a fashion-forward layered look.

Mum Life Meets Fashion: How to Keep Your Style Sharp Amidst the Chaos

Image Credit: Pexels

{This is a collaborative post}

Being a mother is no small feat. From changing nappies to attending PTA meetings, the tasks and responsibilities are seemingly endless. In the midst of this dispersed routine, it's common for mums to lose sight of their previous way of life - one that included taking time to get ready and putting together stylish outfits.

However, retaining your sense of style doesn't necessarily mean you have to forego your mum duties. With a little bit of thought, planning, and stocking up on some key wardrobe essentials, you can keep your fashion game on point, even amidst the chaos of motherhood. Let’s take a closer look at how to effortlessly balance motherhood while maintaining your personal style.

Find Balance Between Fashion & Function

Embracing the mum life doesn't mean sacrificing your style. You can still look chic while staying comfortable and practical. Invest in good-quality basics that offer both style and ease, like stretchy jeans, flowy tops, and comfortable shoes. Don't forget to pack a few matching bikini sets for those family beach days, which provide both comfort and flair. A pair of easy-to-throw-on sunglasses and some simple yet elegant accessories can also instantly elevate your outfit, ensuring you feel stylish without compromising on function.

Easy-to-Style Wardrobe Essentials

Maxi dresses, loose-fitting cardigans, and wide-legged pants are fantastic pieces that are easy to put together while remaining stylish. Also, consider investing in some high-waisted jeans. They are fashionable and serve as a tucked tummy shield during those playground frolics. Versatile items like button-down shirts or knit sweaters can be mixed and matched leading you to look photo-ready at all times.

Don’t Shy Away From Colours & Patterns

Dressing up as a busy mother doesn't have to mean sticking to boring, monochromatic outfits. This is where you can take out those matching bikini sets that have been waiting to see the light of day. Bright, bold colours and vibrant patterns not only add a fun element to your outfit but also cleverly disguise any accidental spills or smudges.

How to Pick Your Next Pair of Boots

Image Credit: UnSplash

{This is a collaborative post}

When it comes to footwear, few items are as versatile and essential as a good pair of boots. Whether you're heading to the office, tackling tough weather, or preparing for a weekend out, boots offer both style and functionality. With so many options available, choosing the right pair can be overwhelming. From selecting the perfect material to ensuring a comfortable fit, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know. Plus, with Charles & Keith discount vouchers at Latest Deals, you can find quality boots without breaking the bank.

1. Consider the Purpose

The first step in picking your next pair of boots is to consider the purpose. Are you looking for something that will carry you through wet and muddy walks, or are you more focused on a smart pair for work? The occasion and setting where you’ll be wearing the boots will heavily influence the type of material and style you should choose.

For example:

  • Work boots: If you need sturdy boots for manual work, go for durable materials such as leather or synthetic blends that offer support and protection. Steel-toe options are worth considering if you need extra safety.
  • Casual boots: When looking for something more versatile, ankle boots or Chelsea boots are great choices for both smart-casual and casual outfits.
  • Outdoor boots: For hiking or outdoor adventures, opt for waterproof boots with rugged soles for extra grip and durability.

2. Material Matters

The material of your boots will determine not only their look but also how comfortable and durable they are. The two most common boot materials are leather and synthetic materials, each with its own pros and cons.

  • Leather: Leather boots are classic, durable, and breathable. With proper care, they can last for years. However, they tend to be more expensive and may require a break-in period. Leather is a great option if you're looking for something stylish and long-lasting.
  • Suede: A type of leather, suede offers a softer, more luxurious feel, but it’s more susceptible to water damage. This means suede boots are best reserved for drier conditions unless they come with a waterproof finish.
  • Synthetic materials: These tend to be more affordable and offer a wide range of colours and styles. Synthetic boots often require less maintenance and are easier to clean, but they may not last as long as leather ones.

When deciding, remember to factor in where and when you’ll wear them. If you’re after versatility, leather might be your best bet, especially with a classic design.

3. Comfort Is Key

No matter how stylish your boots are, if they aren’t comfortable, you won’t want to wear them. The perfect pair should feel good from the moment you put them on, although some boots (like leather) may need time to break in. Here’s what to look for in terms of comfort:

  • Cushioned insoles: These can make a huge difference, especially if you plan to wear the boots for extended periods.
  • Arch support: Choose boots with proper arch support to avoid discomfort or foot pain.
  • Breathability: Look for boots with moisture-wicking linings to keep your feet dry and fresh throughout the day.
  • Toe room: Make sure there’s enough room for your toes to move without feeling cramped. This is especially important if you plan to wear thicker socks.

4. Style and Versatility

Boots come in a variety of styles, so it’s essential to pick a pair that fits your wardrobe and lifestyle. Some of the most popular options include:

  • Chelsea boots: Known for their sleek look and elastic side panels, Chelsea boots are ideal for both smart-casual and semi-formal wear. They’re easy to slip on and off, making them a practical yet stylish choice.
  • Ankle boots: These are great for everyday wear and can be paired with everything from jeans to dresses. They offer a more casual look and come in a range of heel heights and designs.
  • Knee-high boots: Perfect for winter, knee-high boots provide extra warmth and coverage. They look especially stylish paired with skirts or dresses and can be found in both flat and heeled options.

How to make the most out of your wholesale clothing purchases

Image Credit: Pexels

{This is a collaborative post}

Buying clothing wholesale can be an excellent idea in a wide range of situations. Whether you’re celebrating a big life event with your community or you’re a business trying to get your brand out there, it can provide you with wonderful aesthetic opportunities.

With so many different options to choose between, it can be pretty tricky working out how to make the most of your purchase. From understanding your target audience to being creative with your branding, these are some basic factors to consider.

Try to understand your target audience

When you start your journey of buying wholesale clothing, you’ll need to think about who will actually be wearing that clothing. This requires developing an understanding of your target audience, from their age to their general sense of style and place within the broader cultural context.

While pretty much any demographic will wear a t-shirt, the fit of that t-shirt and even more importantly, the branding that you put on it won’t be universally suitable. It’s important to take some time during this stage of the process - it will have a significant influence on many of the following steps.

Find a good wholesale supplier

Once you know who you’re buying for, you can start to look for a wholesale clothing supplier. In most cases, it will be best to go with a bigger supplier such as Screen Textiles that doesn’t just handle a single niche. With these kinds of suppliers, you’ll be able to look over a wide range of styles, qualities and price ranges until you identify a few options that could be suitable for your brand.

If you’re still unsure of what to go with, it’s worth reaching out to the supplier for advice - they’ll likely have some tips that you won’t have thought of, and it could save you a lot of hassle further down the line.

Don’t overbuy

While the whole point of buying wholesale is to benefit from an economy of scale, there are limits to this. It can be tempting to put a huge order in to benefit from the lower per-unit costs, but you need to make sure that you’ll actually be able to use that whole order.

For example, if you regularly make small updates to your branding, or if the items are a one-off for an event you’re holding, you’ll need to make sure you’re able to shift the majority of the order. You don’t want clothing sitting in a store cupboard somewhere for years, just to be thrown away.

Be creative with your branding

Lastly, the benefits of wholesale clothing purchases aren’t just automatic - you also need to be creative in your branding approach. Even if your use case is non-commercial, to commemorate a special event, it’s still important that you make something unique and special - take your time, and have some fun with the design process.

As you can see, making the most of your wholesale clothing purchases requires some thoughtful planning. Use other services such as graphic designers to help you out, and try to step outside the conceptual box for a second - it’ll be worth it.

Reemerging into the Glittering Glamour of the 80's

Image Credit: Unsplash

{This is a collaborative post}

The decade that exuded vibrant colours, synth melodies, and power suits continues to exude an irresistible charm that modern culture finds irresistible. Fashion, music, and TV shows from this decade have seen an enormous resurgence, positioning this timeless era as an endless source of creativity and innovation. But why does its spirit keep coming back into our lives?

Fashion in the 80s: Bold, Bright and Beautiful

The 80s was an explosion of color and extravagance, made even more memorable by eye-catching fashion statements that turned heads and set trends. From power suits with their oversized shoulder pads proclaiming corporate success to acid-washed jeans that signaled casual cool, every piece made a statement about its owner's character and individuality. Neon colors, leg warmers and spandex weren't simply fashion choices, they represented individuals showing boldness. Modern fashion houses have revived iconic 80s styles, proving that flamboyance never really goes out of style. A touch of 80s flair now injects our wardrobes with vibrancy while keeping alive its spirit of nonconformity. And don't forget about its legendary hairstyles, teased hair, mullets and feathered bangs, that defined an era and continue to influence modern hair trends.

Music from the 80s: Synthwave and Sensation

Would you want to capture the 80s in one sound? One that perfectly encapsulated its culture? No doubt the electronic hum of synthesizers. Led by pioneers like Depeche Mode and New Order, synthpop and new wave reigned supreme on charts everywhere and found their way into our hearts through danceable melodies. This decade was defined by both electric exuberance of pop and rebellious rock music. Today, synthwave is making a notable comeback, not just out of nostalgia but out of genuine appreciation for its unique textures that defined an era. Modern artists are creating modernized renditions of these vintage sounds, recreating classics while pushing boundaries. Synthwave is an unforgettable form of music which cannot be ignored, so grab your neon shades and dance like it's 1985 all over again.

How to Make the Most of Every Day and Stay Positive

Photo by freestocks on Unsplash

{This is a collaborative post}

Looking after your mental health and staying positive are important if you want to keep from feeling the blues. Staying positive is easier said than done though. Some days it is just too hard to always have a smile on your face. With just a few simple techniques, you too can have a positive outlook on life and make the most of every day.

Did you know that just by thinking good and happy thoughts, you can change your mood and perspective on certain situations? With a better view of life and your surroundings, you can increase your quality of life, gain more energy and recover quicker from illness.

Look for the Good in Your Life

This is something that takes practice. It has been shown that by identifying the good things you have in life, you start to become more grateful. Sure, you might be having a tough time lately, but there has to be at least one thing that you have gratitude for. It can be as small as that first perfectly brewed cup of coffee in the morning. Or maybe that beautiful sunset you got to experience on your drive home from work.

When you get up in the morning, stand in front of your mirror and list just one thing you are happy about. Focus on the small things that give meaning to your existence.

Get Fancy

Just as thinking positive thoughts can have an improved impact on your mental health, so can looking good. It is the same concept as smiling when you are feeling low. Moving those facial muscles has a compounding effect on your mood. If you look good, oftentimes you can persuade your mind to feel great too. Put on your best work outfit and do your makeup and hair. If you have some spare cash to spoil yourself, get that Gucci handbag you have been drooling over. By looking your best, you will exude confidence without even trying. Check out the variety of this shop online at ssense.com for some eye-catching clothes.

Spend Time with the Right People

Positivity breeds positivity. Just as a yawn is contagious, so is spending your time with positive people. Look around at those you spend your time with. Maybe someone is always talking about the bad things in their life, never looking at the good. Try to be around those who are in a good mood most of the time. Those are the people that can help boost your self-esteem and help you be more positive in general.

Trying out Love Leggings - Energise and Revitalise Sports Leggings - Which to Choose?

Love Leggings - Great for all kinds of activities, even tree climbing!

{This is a review post, many thanks Love Leggings for the sports leggings you sent to my daughter}

OK, the first thing I have to tell you is that if you order some Love Leggings you won't be disappointed. We have been happy customers for just under three years now and one of my 14-year-old twins Miss E doesn't wear any other leggings apart from them. We've had both the regular leggings and the sports specific ones and she swears by them. So many leggings go thin on the bum, come away at the seams or show off your knicker line but not so with the Love Leggings.

For the last couple of years, Miss E has been wearing both Focus and Energise sports leggings and she has been really happy in both styles. More recently she has also been sent a pair of Revitalise leggings to try out too and this means she has now tried all three styles of sports leggings that Love Leggings currently sell.

Energise - £35

Energise are ultra-lightweight compression leggings so they have a little extra support. Miss E finds these perfect for running as they have pockets for her phone, keys etc. Made from 80% nylon and 20% elastane, these leggings have added lycra for 4 ways stretch. They feature a high-rise waistband, distinctive seam design and are sweat-wicking. They also encompass shape-retention technology so they hold their shape for the life of the product.

Both my girls have had Energise leggings for well over a year and even with constant wear, they have never faded colour, bobbled, or lost their shape. Miss E has worn some of hers so much that they have naturally worn out for that is after months and months of wear and I have been very happy with their longevity.

Energise leggings are available in regular, tall and petite ranges, with sizes 6 through to 28. It is so nice to find a brand that is inclusive and made for women of all shapes and sizes. You can get them in full length, 7/8ths and cropped styles. Currently, they are available in black and thunder blue.

Best Maternity Fashion Tips for Women

Photo by Devon Divine on Unsplash

{This is a collaborative post}

You’ve conceived and your little bundle of joy is in your tummy, congratulations! Now is the time to think of the fashion trends that will help you look chic and exquisite. Of course, when maternity fashion is concerned, it doesn’t come in one size or style. Today, with much evolution of the fashion industry, maternity fashion trends have been taken to the next level and you can pretty much wear whatever you choose.

Simply put, when you go through the web, every photo will unleash a different story about what’s trending. Now that you’re about to see yourself expand for the next few months, you have the perfect opportunity at your disposal to get creative with your fashion choices.

In this feature, we will shed light on the best maternity fashion tips for pregnant women:

1.  Consider Shopping Sparingly

Bear in mind, every passing month will weigh on your tummy and your size and shape will change. Therefore, don't buy anything that can only be worn for a very short time. You can, of course, still wear jeans and short skirts, but you're better to purchase ones with a stretchy maternity panel, so they can grow with you and perhaps go for ones that aren't too expensive or over the top.

Remember, that even if you choose an item to wear in the early stages of pregnancy, thinking that you can keep it for wearing post-delivery, you never know what the future will unfold in terms of your body shape. Your body shape might not be the only thing to change whilst pregnant or once you've had your baby as hair loss can be common so look for Cliphair on the web to restore your hair's natural look.

February's Lockdown Teen Style with Femme Luxe

{This is a paid collaboration with Femme Luxe}

Lockdown - Home School Style

It's been the strangest of years and now we're heading towards the end of (what we hope is) the final lockdown and the girls and I have been reflecting on how being home has been a blessing in so many ways. They've loved being able to dress in comfy and casual clothes for months and I think it will be a big shock to have to get back into tights, ties and blazers for school.

Let me share with you some of the great lounge suits, tracksuits, call them what you will, that they've been wearing this February. They have been gifted to us from Femme Luxe and the girls are really pleased with them.

Above Miss M is wearing Lizzie joggers in hot pink and these retail for £11.99 currently, although as is very often the case with Femme Luxe, you can use their current discount code for 25% off, making them £8.99. So always check on the price or google for discount codes as I've always found one each time I've ordered so far.  Other colours differ in price and are £12.99, £13.99 and £14.99.

These joggers are available in sizes 6 - 16 and I'd say they come up generous in size. They are also a really good length, both of my girls are 5ft 7/8" and they are long enough for them, which is unusual and really pleased them both.

They have a hidden drawstring inside, cuffed bottoms and really generous pockets, which is always a plus. They feel nice and fleecy on the inside and are a mix of polyester/ cotton. I've found them to wash up well, but you can't tumble dry them, which is a bit of a shame.

What to Wear When You Work From Home (Aside From Pyjamas)

Photo by AllGo  on Unsplash

{This is a collaborative post}

Now, more than ever, many people are working from home or via a remote location, which has sparked many discussions on workplace productivity, diversity and mental health. But where is the discussion about how working from home affects workplace fashion? Well, we are about to have it right here.

The number of people telecommuting or working remotely has grown by 159 per cent over the last 12 years, according to a study conducted by Global Workplace Analytics. This has provided both employees and employers with more flexibility in all aspects of business, and it has virtually eliminated workplace dress codes.

If you work from home, it may be easy to stay in your pyjamas all day, not brush your teeth until 5 p.m. or work from the comfort of your own bed. And statistically, while those who work remotely are more productive than their counterparts who work in an office, all of those factors above could lead to a loss in productivity, creativity and motivation while on the job. Working from home should be, first of all, comfortable for you in all aspects and if you are looking for remote opportunities in London, then you are in luck as there are plenty of opportunities available.

If you’re looking to revamp or improve your work from home wardrobe, consider this style advice and these hacks that will have you looking fabulous while feeling comfortable.

Tops Perfect for Remote Workers
If you work from home, you could stay in your favourite oversized t-shirt all day. But what happens when you have to video conference in or run to a quick meeting at a local coffee shop? That t-shirt isn’t going to cut it. Think about bold plus size blouses that will have you feeling motivated and on your A-game.
      Flowy TopsOf course, no one wants to be wearing a blazer while they work from home because that’s just simply not comfortable. But when you opt for a flowy blouse with unique embellishments, you’re pairing comfort with style, which should make you feel great about your remote look.
      Opt for BlackBlack will always be a sharp colour that can make even the most comfortable clothing look like it belongs in an office. Whether you choose a blouse made out of a soft, stretchy jersey material or a more structured blouse, if it’s black, you will feel put together and chic.
      PrintapaloozaIf you still need a “pick me up” after your first cup of coffee in the morning, throw a blouse on that has a bold pattern or vibrant colour to wake you up. According to colour theory, warmer bright colours can positively impact your mood, and if you’re feeling confident and happy, you are more likely to be more productive.

Beautiful Silver Child's Locket from Molly Brown London: Review

Have you heard of Molly Brown London? I hadn't until last week but now I am so glad that I have. Molly Brown London is a British high-end children's jewellery brand established in 2006 and upon its launch it was dubbed ‘Tiffany for girls’ by VOGUE Magazine. I can certainly see why, just look at their packaging, if you changed the beautiful pink and chocolate brown packaging to robin egg blue it could easily be mistaken for the iconic brand. No wonder it is widely accepted as some of the best in the business.

The founder Erica Illingworth believes that “A love of jewellery can be inspired at any age and hopefully indulged for a lifetime.” My girls really did feel very special from the moment they took their individual Molly Brown London bag out of the delivery box.

A piece of Molly Brown London jewellery might be the first taste of luxury that your little girl has experienced and what a wonderful introduction to the finer things in life. Don't think that it has to be super expensive though as the price for a beautiful necklace starts from as little as £30 and actually at the moment they have some amazing sale items for just £12, I'm definitely going to be picking up some gifts.

Dressing my Man with Jacamo - 23 Years On

Our family back in early 2004 when JJ was being christened

My husband and I will have been together for 23 years this Christmas, we were just young 21 year olds when we met working at a hotel in Eastbourne all those years ago. It always makes me smile to think how much I was dreading being sent to work in the hotel over the Christmas period. I was based up at the London Head Office at the time but as a new Graduate Trainee Manager I wasn't allowed to have Christmas off when everyone else on the programme was working so Eastbourne it was to be!

I had visions of a run-down hotel full of grannies where bingo was the highlight of their stay. I thought all the staff would be old and stuck in their ways and the town would have shut down for the Winter period. Of course in some ways I was right, the hotel was full of elderly people and bingo was a definite attraction, as was Jean on the Piano and Malcolm on the Organ but what I hadn't banked on was that the Assistant Manager would become my husband and that most of the staff were young and there was a great many nightclubs in town all catering for our age group.

When I first met dh I wasn't too impressed if I'm honest, I thought he was a bit camp and he tried to give me a staff room with a door that wouldn't lock. I did of course notice how good he looked wearing a suit and tie and it is funny but my overriding early memories of him were that he had great hair and nails. It was almost as if I was assessing him for future pedigree!

Choosing the Right Swim Wear as a Plus Size Woman

I don't think there has been a time in my life when I haven't been classed as plus size. Even at my slimmest, I was a size 14, which I have to say looks really good on me but for at least the last couple of decades I've been a 20, 22 or 24. I've had a turbulent relationship with my weight and the way my body looks and whilst I have no desire to be a tiny size 10, I do want to be healthier and to have far less of a tummy.

For now, I am still a size 22 and in years gone by choosing a swimsuit that flatters my shape has been my least favourite thing to do but not any longer as Simply Be have the most amazing collection of swimwear available in all sizes to suit women of every shape. In my current size they have 217 swimwear items available, that is pretty awesome, right?

I've had a good look through and thought I'd share my top picks for various body shapes -

Apple shape - wide waist
You'll want to create the illusion of more of a waist if you have a rounded middle shape. Swimsuits with two colours in panels can really help create this silhouette. Look at the Beach to Basics swimsuit in black and white on the left, it retails for just £32.00 at Simple Be and I think it would be perfect. Or take the Magisculpt swimsuit (£45.00) on the right, it has level 3 tummy control in the swimsuit and a beautiful blouson top over it to glide over the tummy area.

Women's Plus Size Fashion made Easy with JD Williams

I hadn't heard of JD Williams until they got in touch with me and then all of a sudden I'm seeing their adverts everywhere and I have to admit that I am so glad I now know about them. As a larger lady I don't always find it easy to buy clothes that look good and suit me. I go into shops like New Look that do a plus size range but they are all trendy cut-away styles that would suit someone in their early twenties and then I look in M&S and I might see a few things I like but I can never find the larger sizes.

A Massive Range
Well now my problem is solved as JD Williams have the biggest range of clothes that I think I've ever seen and all available in my size. Their range is available from U.K. Size 12 to 32 and they are constantly making changes to ensure there is always the latest styles and something to suit everyone. As well as ladies fashions there is also fashion for men (again catering for the larger sizes), kids, homes and electrical goods.

When I first had a look round the JD Williams website I was a little overwhelmed with the choice but once you use the search filters to make sure you only see the items that fit your criteria you are left with a good selection of items that you could purchase. I was really pleased to see there is a whole range of price points too, some of the items are a complete bargain and it is definitely worth looking at their Outlet area on the site as there are dresses from £6, tops with up to 60% off and boots with up to 70% off, there is certainly something to be said for buying your boots off season!

Beachside Fun in their Berghaus Coats #CountryKids

After a long morning at church followed by a meeting we were all ready to head out for some fresh air and family time. My favourite sleepy seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea was the destination and the girls had chosen to take a scooter each. JJ hadn't and I think totally regretted it, he often forgets he is just 13 and not thirty, so he had to join my husband and I for a walk along the prom whilst the girls raced around and JJ bagged a scooter at intervals when the girls wanted to walk on the beach.

No winner was declared but they both had lots of fun and of course got in some great exercise. Even when it is overcast and a little rainy it is still important to get outdoors and enjoy family time.

Boxing Day in Brighton - Sale Shopping and Ice-Skating

For as long as I can remember I have looked forward to the January sales, all sales in fact. We would have our family Christmas and all I'd hope for was money to be able to go and shop on 27th December. As of course when I was young shops didn't open on Boxing Day like they do now so I had to wait that extra day. Over the years I've grown less and less fond of shopping and now I hardly go to the sales at all but I do seem to have cultivated two young girls that have gained my love of shopping.

As Christmas starts early on 23rd December in our community by the time it gets to Boxing Day we are all ready to escape and thus two coaches arrived on Boxing Day morning and off we all went to Brighton. We did the same last year and it was a great day; friends and families split into smaller groups and we go off and do our own thing. My husband and son headed off for a waffle and then to the cinema to see Rogue One and us girls indulged in some sale shopping and a gorgeous Italian lunch, followed by ice-skating at the Pavilion ice-rink with about thirty other friends from our community.

Great Excitement with Vertbaudet

I've not seen my little girl, Miss E so excited for a very long time. We picked the parcel up from the post room and she was beside herself with joy, 'do you think they are in there Mummy?' she asked and luckily for me they were. What is the 'they' in question? A pair of denim dungarees that she fell in love with upon first sight.

Both my twin girls have winter coats fromVertbaudet currently and they are wearing brilliantly, they wash up well, have kept their vibrant colours and the mock fur remains soft and beautiful. Therefore when they asked the girls if they would like to choose something else they both happily sat down with the laptop and started to choose.

In honesty Vertbaudet clothes are more suited to Miss E as she likes clothes designed for her age group, that are comfy and fun in design. So the denim dungarees she picked are a perfect example of this. Miss M on the other hand, despite being just 8 years would love to dress like a 14 year old and I have to hold her back and limit her clothes choices to things that fit with my modesty code. I'm pleased to say that Vertbaudet do not offer the mini adult clothes that so many of the high-street shops do.
