Beautiful Silver Child's Locket from Molly Brown London: Review

Have you heard of Molly Brown London? I hadn't until last week but now I am so glad that I have. Molly Brown London is a British high-end children's jewellery brand established in 2006 and upon its launch it was dubbed ‘Tiffany for girls’ by VOGUE Magazine. I can certainly see why, just look at their packaging, if you changed the beautiful pink and chocolate brown packaging to robin egg blue it could easily be mistaken for the iconic brand. No wonder it is widely accepted as some of the best in the business.

The founder Erica Illingworth believes that “A love of jewellery can be inspired at any age and hopefully indulged for a lifetime.” My girls really did feel very special from the moment they took their individual Molly Brown London bag out of the delivery box.

A piece of Molly Brown London jewellery might be the first taste of luxury that your little girl has experienced and what a wonderful introduction to the finer things in life. Don't think that it has to be super expensive though as the price for a beautiful necklace starts from as little as £30 and actually at the moment they have some amazing sale items for just £12, I'm definitely going to be picking up some gifts.

My 10 year old twin girls were offered a piece of jewellery each. You can check out our review of Miss M's Mother of Pearl Cross Necklace over on Honest Mummy Reviews.

Miss E choose a personalised locket as her gift. Being an older girl she choose the large size locket and she had a choice of a heart shape or circle. The large one is 20mm in diameter and it comes on an adjustable 16-18" Stirling silver belcher chain, being hallmarked on the tag.

I like the fact that we got a clear A4 sheet instructing us how to get the perfect picture to go inside her locket. The picture sits in a lip and groove fastening to keep it secure and I found the locket very easy to open.

Miss E's large locket is £75 and it has an extra special touch, a 1pt diamond set in the little star detail hanging alongside the locket. There is also a version without the diamond and that retails for £65. I can see this locket lasting her for years to come as the design is sophisticated and timeless.

You can also have the locket engraved and I love that there is no additional cost for this. You can have up to 8 letters in one of three different fonts, so that it really suits your girls personality. Maybe have her name, a special date or even her pet name put on the front.

The clasp on the belcher chain is a lovely sturdy lobster clasp and it was easy to open and close. You can also see the little paw print tag by the clasp and this is your assurance that this is a genuine piece of Molly Brown London jewellery. It also adds a little fun and it's lovely to discover that the brand name and the paw tag where inspired by the founders family pet Labrador, you guessed it - Molly Brown!

You can see that Miss E is very taken with her necklace and it is sturdy enough that I'll let her wear it whenever she wants and not just keep it for best. It would make a superb special gift for a birthday, First Holy Communion, older girls Baptism or other significant occasion.

The Molly Brown London packaging is so beautiful that both girls have it on display in their bedrooms and the boxes are nice and sturdy and thus will keep their necklaces in great condition for years to come. It's a really nice touch to get the bags even though our necklaces came by post. They were in a box to ensure they stayed pristine and were layered with pink tissue paper.

The standard delivery service is £3.95 for a tracked courier delivery that will take 2-3 days from placing your order. Even having one necklace personalised we still received ours in super fast time.

Having seen the quality of their jewellery, I wouldn't hesitate to order from Molly Brown London. Their products are sure to make any young girls smile.

Why not pin this post for later?

Disclosure: We received this locket free of charge for the purpose of this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
