Christmas is Coming - Lets Get Crafting! 40 Fab Ideas

There's not too long now, I am officially OK with the Christmas music being on the radio and walking in to shops and seeing the decorations everywhere. In fact, come next weekend and our house might even be decorated too and I've just started the wrapping. Yay!

Don't fear though there is still long enough if you want to get your craft on and here I share 40 wonderful craft ideas to give you loads of crafting inspiration.

First up - how about 7 craft ideas for older children over on Cats Yellow Days? Which is a guest post from the fab Maggy of Red Ted Art. Maggy is Miss E's favourite YouTuber so I know she will love these star origami bowls.

Becky at Baby Budgeting shares the simple formula for making magic reindeer dust/ food, which seems to be a new idea over the last decade but I think it adds a lovely bit of magic to Christmas Eve.

I'm never very good at biscuit baking but the kids and I are definitely going to have a try at these hand-made and decorated Christmas Tree biscuits. They make super gifts for teachers or Guide group leaders, it is nice to give something handmade.

I think these easy ribbon Christmas tree cards from Jen at Mum in the Madhouse as a winner as they are simple enough for anyone to do but effective that you are happy to give them and nowadays you can do the same thing with Washi tape and make it even easier.

Kirsty at The Mummy Sphere has been making Salt Dough Decorations and her design is super simple but so effective. We are for sure going to be copying these and giving them as gifts to the Godparents. I honestly had no idea that I could make the salt dough from everyday store ingredients, I'm made up.

How about 10 Christian Christmas crafts from Cat at Yellow Days? From the simple of an angel pine cone to the complex shadow puppet theatre, there is something for all abilities to try.

This next craft isn't one for the little people but your older kids can get involved if they are supervised. Chris at Thinly Spread shares her tips with making festive tin can lanterns and they look so effective.

There are lots of lovely ideas of things to create and crafts in this post from Becky at Baby Budgeting about 15 tips for a thrifty Christmas. Make your own paper chains, bake up some gingerbread decorations or wrap gifts in your children's drawings - these are all fab ideas!

Joy at the Sensory Seeker wants to share some cute Reindeer crafts with us and they are suitable for all ages too. I love the idea of using your child's hand prints as the reindeer antlers.

I can't resist chocolate at the best of times and dress it up as Santa or a cute snowman and my resistance drops even lower. How cool are these Christmas decorated chocolate bars from Jenny at The Gingerbread House.

Another super simple but very effective looking tutorial is next. How about making 3D snowflake decorations to hang on the tree or put on the festive table or mantle?

A great one for the toddlers next, with a handprint Christmas wreath from Colette at We're Going on an Adventure. Paper, paint and a bit ribbon and you're sorted!

Or if you want a more grown-up looking wreath, then try this classy one from Pinks Charming, its really effective without being complex.

Peppermint creams are something I made last year for the first time in around twenty years but they were a big hit, so this year I'll take it a step further and enlist the girls to help make some peppermint snowmen, they won't be able to resist their cute little faces!

And I'll leave you with a link to 10 Christmas crafts for kids over on the Thimble and Twig blog. The snowman snow dough looks particulalry fabulous.

I hope you've found something you'll enjoy making this December.

Have fun, Mich x

Why not pin this post for later?
