Review: Cloggs Back to School Shoes from Kickers

As part of my getting ready for back to school early scheme I ordered a couple of pairs of school shoes from the online retailer Cloggs and boy was I impressed with their service. I'd not heard of Cloggs before but then in general I'm not a massive online shopper so its not surprising. I will from now onwards be very happy to shop with them though.

Placing my order was very simple and the shoes arrived quickly and in pristine condition. The mail package even had a handle like a shopping bag so I could carry it easily, which was a bonus.

The shoes I ordered were The Kickers Kick T Brogue shoe in infant size for Miss E and these retail at £49.99, which is a little more than I might pay for her regular school shoes from Clarks or such but these beauties are made to last and Miss E feels so very special in them. She has been putting them on all summer and dancing round in them!

Kickers is a name I know and trust and  recall buying my first pair when I was at college 25 years ago. I loved my Kickers then as my daughter does now and there are so many different styles for little girls that want to remain trendy but also have a sturdy and comfy shoe.

These versatile shoes are made from smooth black leather with glossy leather contrast details inspired by traditional brogues. The shoes feature a t-bar style strap with Kickers branded adjustable buckle fastening. For added comfort, the shoes are padded at the heel collar and have an odour preventing insole. In Miss E's words 'they are just perfect Mummy'.

The other pair I ordered is for JJ and as he is starting Secondary school in September I was keen for him to wear a pair of shoes that were hard-wearing, comfortable but also a little trendy. For years he has been the boy who is happy in his Clarks velcro strap shoes and I didn't want him to be teased at big school. But I realise I must not put my worries on him and thus I just let him see the page on Cloggs for the boys school shoes in his size (he is enormous for his age!) and thankfully he choose a pair of trendy Kickers shoes too.

JJ chose a pair of Kickers Kick Lo men's shoes that retail for £69.99. Again like Miss E's shoes these are really sturdy and have what looks to be an invincible base. They have all the style you expect from a pair of Kickers, including the iconic flower tag.

I was pleased to note that the leather is scuff resistant, there is a comfort insole and also odour free treatment.

Delivery
Cloggs offer a Free Next Day Delivery and same-day dispatch service for all orders over £80 placed before 8pm, but not to worry if you are not spending that much you can still have free delivery on a standard service (2-4 days) or there are a range of paid delivery services so you can choose something that really suits your situation.

Returns/ Exchanges
As I mentioned JJ's shoes were on the tight side and thus we returned them for a size bigger. This was really easy as I just reused the Cloggs mailing bag and they had provided me with a returns label and slip to go inside the bag. I then took my parcel to the nearest Collect+ point, there are over 5,800 in the UK and there were at least 6 within an easy drive from me and I live in the middle of nowhere! The peace of mind is good when using Collect+ too as the item is insured and trackable.

Then JJ's replacement shoes arrived with me and this did not cost me a penny. You are advised to allow 7 working days for your replacement or refund from them being received back in the warehouse. It is very good that all returns received to the warehouse within 28 days of you receiving your order is free and even after that as long as you return the item in a fully saleable condition there is only a charge of £2.50.

There are lots of good discounts if you take a look, I saw a 15% off your first purchase and a 15% off all purchases with an NUS card, it is definitely worth having a look around.

February 2016 Update
JJ has worn the backs of the heels and inside soles of his shoes out but Miss E is still going strong with her shoes and apart from a bit of scuffing on the patent at the front they are perfect.

Disclosure: We received these two pars of shoes free of charge for the purpose of this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
