We Love Telford Town Park #CountryKids

If you are ever in the Telford area with your kids and need something cheap to do I can't recommend the town park highly enough. A couple of weeks ago we spent a week in Telford staying at a friends house and exploring a little of Shropshire. It is a beautiful area and so accessible, we could not believe the amount of motorways and A roads within easy access.

Get Out and About – The Big Kids Get Adventurous

Just lately my husband and I seem to be letting our hair down a bit more, by that I mean we are getting more adventurous in our fun and days out with the kids. Prior to moving to the countryside you could probably count on one hand the amount of times we went to the park and actually got on the play equipment, we were more likely to be found on the bench having a chat and smiling at the kids as they charged about.

Now you can find us playing basketball with the kids, taking them to a barn dance and dancing the night away, cycling as a family, going on the fitness equipment at the park and even going on the park equipment, which in reality is probably only meant for the kids, but sometimes dh and I like to be big kids.

Take last week in the Easter holidays, we headed out to do some shopping for dh's work which was not the most thrilling of times and the kids behaved well that we went to find a new park and what a fabulous place it was. So fabulous that there was no way dh and I wanted to miss out on the fun, so all five of us had a ball and got adventurous together.

I think it is really important for families to get out and about together and I have written about it quite a lot since moving here and having more free time.

The rain stopped....... and we got to the park

I've found the rain of the last couple of weeks very difficult. Being in a new area with not many friends I am reliant on getting outside and especially going to the park with the kids.  I have energetic children, especially the girls and they need to run all that excess energy off or they start to go a little stir crazy.

I am so grateful that the rain has let up this and we have been able to get out and enjoy some outdoors time. The grass is still slippy and the ground very muddy but it is all good fun.

I'm also grateful for my beautiful new camera and the joy of learning how to use it.  I am loving the photos it is producing.

I also thank the Lord of the privilege of having twins, I'm practically redundant at the park as they don't really need me. They have each other to push on the swings, a compete set for the see-saw and a mate to run and climb with - perfect!

There was nothing special about yesterday, it was just a trip to a local park but we had fun and I captured some lovely photos, so I'm sharing them as part of Mummy, Daddy, Me's Ordinary Moments and I'll also hook up with my old linky #R2BC as I'm over flowing with gratitude right now.

Girls picnic at the park #CountryKids

I love Saturdays, they are probably my favourite day of the week nowadays.  There used to be a time when I dreaded Saturdays as dh would be at work and there was no routine. Three young kids would leave me with a 12 hour stretch that I had no idea how to fill, if I dared to lie in for even a moment havoc and mischief would reign so it was just not worth it and I got up when they did at 6am or such and the long day loomed ahead. Then they started to grow up and they were happy to just chill for a while and they learnt how to amuse themselves and now we can go out and I do not have to hover over them as they play any longer as they all now know the rules and the boundaries.

I like having bigger kids and it suits me to have really chilled Saturdays.  Today JJ went to work with Daddy and that meant it was girls day, the girls love having just a day with me and I asked them what they fancied doing. I had already decided I would wake and then read in bed for a bit, not going downstairs before 9am but I was happy to be flexible during the day and do something they fancied.  It was agreed that they wanted to take their scooters to the park and have a picnic.

I'm still not feeling 100% from my cold so I agreed but said we would pick the picnic up from Morrison's on the way and that I'd sit and have a read and watch them play rather than being in the thick of it.  We had a fabulous time and as per always I did not actually do much reading, as I ended up the chief swing pusher and I had to keep watch of Miss M as a man pushing the big swing was giving me heart attacks.  Take a peek -
