#R2BC - Happy New Year Friends, It's 2018!

Happy New Year friends,

How was the festive period for you? I hope there was at least some times of joy and rest.

In general we've had a good Christmas and new year break, the kids have gone back to school today and I'm ready for routine and normality to resume. Today I'm blitzing the house and getting it all clean and back in order. I'm not particularly good when there is mess and chaos, so this is my kind of day! Yep I know, I'm pretty sad but it takes all sorts, right?

Reasons to be Cheerful is back with me for January and this week I'm sharing some photos of happy moments in December as I didn't manage to get an #R2BC post live at all. I am pleased to say I had loads of time away from blogging though and that was ace!

Miss E made me an advent tub and in it where around 100 little affirmations of how much she loves me. It is something I'll treasure forever.

And there is the little poppet in her new bobble hat!

We put up our Christmas tree and the girls and I compromised with the decorations they wanted and the theme I wanted, so it was very, very full this year but I've loved it.

We headed up to Hertfordshire to see friends and family before Christmas and took a trip into London to Winter Wonderland and to see the amazing show La Petite Soiree.

Whilst we were staying in Herts it snowed and this made the girls super happy as we haven't seen decent snow since we moved over 4 years ago.

I got to have a few times of enjoying a coffee and reading my book before the kids broke up and Christmas fully commenced.

Miss E and I made a wreath for our door.

Both girls made us a table centrepiece for our Christmas Day breakfast too

We helped to host a Christmas party for the families of the children who are coached locally as part of TLG and then we went to delivery Christmas hampers to some local people who needed a hand this Christmas.

We got involved with a cool campaign to help get girls more interested in STEM subjects and jobs and Miss M made a droid.

The Directors put on their annual entertainment. Beauty and the Beast was brilliant fun and my husband played Cogsworth the clock.

My parents and brother arrived for Christmas and we headed off to the panto in Hastings. It was fab and we had so much fun.

JJ made a rare appearance outside of his bedroom and joined in with the family fun. Nanny got in quick for a snuggle!

I decided to model some reindeer antlers on Christmas day.

This is what Christmas day lunch looks like when you are feeding around 9 people. Well done to the chef Marky and my husband for getting it all together.

Here are my family minus my husband and JJ who are both busy getting the food ready for serving at this point.

Boxing Day we headed in to Brighton and did some shopping, eating and the girls ice-skated, whilst the boys went to the cinema to see Star Wars.

Since then we have been film watching - Pitch Perfect 3, the new Jumanji, Hidden Figures, Harry Potter, Boss Baby, Beauty and the Beast and so many more - sale shopping, eating too much, playing games, tidying bedrooms and finding homes for all the gifts and just generally chilling. It's been good.

So, now it is over to you.....
