10 Family Movies to enjoy on NOW TV

During the run up to Christmas and this last week whilst the kids have still been off school we have been enjoying at least one family film every day. Sometimes all the family together, occasionally just the kids and a variety of family members at other times. It is definitely one of my favourite things to do, snuggle up with at least one of my children and watch a very good movie.

I'm  absolutely loving the variety that NOW TV is giving us. The movie package is probably the one that has been used the most (so far). We have been gifted this but it costs just £9.99 per month and I think that is great value, a trip to the cinema costs nearly that for just one adult. Also the films on NOW TV are good quality and there are over 1000 movies to choose from and up to 16 premieres each month. You won't get bored or run out of things to watch - I promise you!

I thought I'd share what films we have been enjoying over the festive period, as they may just suit you for a rainy weekend afternoon and lets face it, there are far too many of those at the moment in the UK.

Newer Films -

Cinderella (2015) U - such a beautiful film that I've actually seen it twice now and I'm sorry to say I was that mum telling my girls to watch this bit and remember kindness always pays off!

Into the Woods (2015) PG - a feast of singing and an amazing all-star cast.   I particularly loved watching James Cordon striking up a tune.

Annie (2014) PG - A great adaptation on the original movie and I think Cameron Diaz plays a superb Miss Hannigan.

Big Hero 6 (2014) PG - fabulous animation as you would expect from Disney-Pixar and a very cute story at the heart of it.

Night at the Museum - Secrets of the Tomb (2014) PG - we saw this at the cinema and have been happy to watch it again. I'm normally totally bored by the third film in any series but I think this is still great.

Monsters University (2013) U - such fun to watch Sully and Mike as arch enemies and watch them overcome their differences and find the friendship we all know and love in the original Monsters Inc film.

Absolute classics -

Mrs Doubtfire (1993) PG - Robin Williams has to be my favourite and it was hilarious watching my kids as he underwent the change from male to female. Loads of laughs.

The Karate Kid Series (1984 onwards) 12 & PG - there are 4 films on NOW TV and for me the original is still the best but I do love these movies and they transport me back to being very young

Ghostbusters (1984) PG - another fun movie from my youth and it is filled with cheesy moments that make both me and the kids laugh out loud. of course afterwards we were all singing the theme tune!

Spiderwick Chronicles (2007) PG - we'd not seen this one before but happily watched it the other night and I was glad it was just Miss E as it is a little scary in places. Definitely one to watch with an adult.

Hope you enjoy our picks, let me know what your current favourite is as the kids and I are always looking for inspiration.

Disclosure: I have been gifted a NOW TV and passes, I am also an affiliate. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
