Big fat award-worthy thank you #R2BC

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

This post is really overdue and as such I’m making it this week’s Reasons to be Cheerful entry.

I owe each and every one of you, my readers a massive great thank you. Not only do you make my day by reading, commenting on, tweeting, emailing, sharing, stumbling and liking my blog posts, you have also taken the time to vote for me in two very important competitions in the parenting blogosphere recently.

Back in March I heard that I had been picked as one of the 10 finalists in the Mad Blog Awards (MADs) Outstanding Contribution award and then last week it was announced that I have made the shortlist for two categories in the Brilliance in Blogging awards (BiBs). I've written before about how these kinds of awards can play havoc with my emotions. I find I invest too much emotional energy in them and end up judging my self-worth on whether I make the grade or not, so this year I vowed to stay away from the action and not to publicise the awards nor to canvas for votes. This made it all the more special to me when you still took the time to put me forward and to vote and to make this happen for me.

I’d be lying if I said I was not completely and utterly chuffed to be at this stage in each of the awards. With the MADs I am already guaranteed my place at the finals and the awards party later this year, my category does not have any voting and that of course really suits me as I do not have to try and badger you to make me the most popular blog out there. I’m never going to win at that, not when I am up against other bloggers who I adore and respect, ones like – Dorky Mum and Thinly Spread.

However the BiBs are slightly different and if you wish to see me in the final six for either of the categories I've been shortlisted in then I do need to ask you to vote for me. But let me be clear here, only vote for me if you really want to. If someone else rocks your boat then vote for them, these kinds of awards only work when you go with your heart. Click on the link above or the badges below to cast your votes before 12th May.

NOMINATE ME BiB 2013 INSPIRENOMINATE ME BiB 2013 COMMENTARY

I am honestly say I am made-up to have got to the shortlisted 16, as the two categories are the ones I would have chosen if I could have picked myself. The first category is Inspire, which I think speaks for itself and I love to think that I might be inspiring some of you – perhaps to be more positive or to share your tough times or to be true to your faith. Then the second is Commentary and I don’t think this is so self-explanatory, this is a category for those bloggers who act as a positive force for change, championing a cause and inspiring others to get involved too.

So sincerely, thank you. Mich x.

And now it is over to you.........

Write your cheery/ gratitude post, add in the blog hop code so people can travel from blog to blog and link up. Then go visit some others and leave some comment love and if you are here this week reading and you think you can’t be bothered to join in, then I suggest you really need to. This is your week, no more procrastinating – go and do it now!
