Northern Reasons to be Cheerful #R2BC

We headed off up north this week, and that's a very rare occurrence for us. I was pondering if the kids have ever been up north and we realised they had once, back in 2011. We stayed in a holiday village near Hull and didn't really enjoy ourselves, so it's probably a good thing I had forgotten that before I booked this break.

This time we stayed in an Air BnB and I'd happily recommend Squirrel Court, which is close to Thornton village, Bronte Country. We were around 20 minutes outside the centre of Bradford, but it felt like it was a lifetime away, as we were in the countryside, with amazing hill views, a farm shop at the end of the lane and tons of local pubs.

*  We've enjoyed lots of family time, doing all sorts, from just chilling in the wonderful cottage to heading into major cities.

*  We all really loved the two massive sofas with pop up foot rests, you know the type!

*  The girls made a friend at the cottage we stayed at and it was nice to them to be able to explore and have some fun.

*  The White Rose shopping centre at Leeds, provided everything we needed and both girls were super pleased with their new running trainers.

*  JJ was happy to educate me on guns and policing methods at the Royal Armoury Museum at Leeds Dock.

*  We loved, loved, loved the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It was amazing to see so many animals close up but also to see they had massive enclosures that they felt comfortable in.

*  We enjoyed exploring East Riddlesden Hall which is a small National Trust site but it was enough for us, especially when followed by a Toby carvery.

*  We also took a trip into Bradford city and visited the National Media Museum, which was interesting for an hour or so.

Come and Join In!

I'd love to read your Reasons to be Cheerful and it is as easy as 1, 2, 3 to join in -

1. Link up a post about something that is making you super happy/ grateful. It can be in this style or it can be anything you like - a recipe, a tutorial, a from the heart, a list - it's your blog, you choose

2. Add the #R2BC badge onto your post or blog so that people can easily find the linky and join in too if they fancy

3.  Share the love. This is the really important bit. Please don't just link and run, comment on at least a couple of posts and why not share with #R2BC too?

I'll stop by all linked up posts to comment and I'll share on twitter too.

The linky will be with me each Saturday morning for the month of June and then it goes back over to Becky at Lakes Single Mum for July.
