Starting my New Job wearing Hotter Sol Sandals (Review & Giveaway)

I started my new job last week and I had a great time. It was so nice to feel part of a team again and to be doing something that is feeding into a goal that I believe in. As well as that, it was great to be able to dress a bit smarter again, and with it being summer I needed some sandals to complete my outfits.

As if by perfect timing I won a pair of Hotter Sol sandals and I knew these would be good for work as I still have a pair from two years ago. Back in April 2017 I went shopping at my local Hotter shop in Eastbourne and came away with metallic gold Sol sandals and they are still going strong now. Yes they have discoloured inside (that will be my sweaty feet!) but the actual shoe itself has hardly aged in two years.

I had a look on the Hotter site to see what the latest colours are for the Sol sandals and I had a choice of platinum multi-coloured, truffle multi and jet black multi in standard and wide fit. Or blood orange, royal blue multi or white in standard fit. I absolutely adored the orange pair but I saw that my old ones were the wide fit, so I ordered the orange in standard fit and the jet black multi in wide, both in a size 7.

Due to two of the straps at the front having touch-close (or velcro) and being adjustable I was able to get both standard and wide fit on, and I didn't find any difference in size around the ankle. In the end I went for the wider fit as the front straps are longer and it felt a more comfy and secure fit for my wide feet.

The Sol sandals retails for £65 and as they last so well I'd say this is a reasonable price for them. There is often a deal to be had with Hotter as well. Sign up to their mailing list and you'll get to hear first when there are special discounts. I noticed at the moment they have 20% off all styles, you just need to add the code JNSITE20 at check out.

The reason I originally chose the Sol sandals is that the deep (1 1/4 inch) polyurethane sole is great at absorbing impact as you walk and has a textile inner sole that is comfortable for my foot to rest on. I have real issues with my left foot and have been seeing a podiatrist for a couple of years now. They have prescribed me orthotic insoles, sent me off for an MRI and offered cortisone injections but they can not find what the issue is. I just get continual pain by my two smaller toes when pressure is applied to my foot, ie: when I am standing. It is very painful and completely wearing, as it just never goes away.

I've come to manage this pain by wearing the right shoes, like my Hotter Sol Sandals, Jewel Shoes, Mystery Boots and Leanne trainers. Genuinely, Hotter shoes are one of two brands that my feet seem to be able to tolerate and be comfortable in right now.
