Staying in Paris at the Adagio Paris Bercy Village

bercy village header

Back in July it was my Mums 70th birthday and as a treat, my brother and I (funded by our lovely Dad) took her away to Paris. I'd spent ages looking for accommodation that was reasonably priced but could sleep two women and a man without us all being in one room. Hotels were coming up really expensive for two rooms and I didn't fancy three single beds in one room and no room to move about.

I ended up booking the Aparthotel Adagio access Paris Philippe Auguste, which is situated in the 20th arrondissment, next to the Père Lachaise Cemetery an close to metro links into the centre. The price was 463.93 Euros for three of us for three nights and I thought this was reasonable for Paris.
Imagine my surprise when the day before I received an email telling me there was a technical error and we couldn't stay at this aparthotel, but they had booked us out to Adagio Paris Bercy Village and that it was a higher specification aparthotel. On the one hand the accommodation did look better and had the benefit of air-conditioning, but on the other it was quite a bit further away from Gare du Nord where we were arriving in to.

However, I need not have worried as we loved the Adagio Paris Bercy Village and would definitely stay there again. We had a one bedroom apartment, which sleeps up to four people. This is two in the bedroom and two on a large pull out sofa bed in the lounge area. Have a look at what we got for our money, it was great value.

At the other end of the room was a kitchenette, which had everything we needed. A full-size fridge with freezer compartment, a dishwasher (and cleaning supplies provided), stove top, kettle, coffee machine and all the cooking and eating equipment I could possibly have needed for a short stay.

The double bedroom was well-equipped with more storage space than we could ever have needed. There was also extra pillows and spare bedding for us to have it exactly how we liked it. The room had plenty of plug sockets, a colour TV and a safe.

The bathroom had a full-size bath and a good powerful shower. Nice smelling toiletries were provided, as well as loads of towels and a hairdryer.

Bercy village is a fabulous area, really vibrant, with a massive cinema, a range of shops and loads of bars and restaurants. We felt totally safe there whatever time of the day or night and the Cour Saint Emillion Metro station is just five minutes walk away, opposite a Starbucks where we had a good value breakfast each day. You can get breakfast at the hotel but we preferred to go out and try out the local area.

The public areas in the aparthotel are really nice, there is plenty of relaxed seating if you just want to rest for a while, a football table and essential like soft drinks, snacks and wine to be able to purchase. We found the receptionists helpful and they were available whenever we needed them. It was great that the front door was locked in the evenings but our room key card allowed us to come and go as we pleased.

There is Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and it was good as all three of us were able to go online without any issues. There is also a computer for customer use downstairs if you don't have a device or perhaps need something printed. There is also a fitness room and laundry available for guests, but we didn't use either.

In all, we had a great stay, the apartment was very clean and comfortable and we loved the local area. You can check out what other travellers thought on Trip Advisor.
