Preparing for winter with Muddy Puddles

Since moving to the countryside you'll have noticed that I like to get the kids out in all weathers, even the pelting rain. Of course there is one weather we have not experienced yet here in East Sussex and that is snow but I'm keen to get kitted out so we can enjoy it when it arrives.

All the winter coats have arrived and most of us have sturdy boots or shoes so it was just Miss E to sort with some snow boots. Luckily Muddy Puddles offered her a gorgeous pair of girlie snowboots to review.

Now obviously she has not worn these in the snow as yet but she is in love with them and constantly wears them around the house and has even been out walking in the cold and wet to get used to them. Apparently there was no real need to wear them in though as she says they are super comfy. You can see her here the day they arrived and she cam back form school, she tore open the box and started to wear them.

The inside is soft and fleecy and the outside is a waterproof polyester. They come in pink, blue and black so you can match them to your ski outfit if you so desire. The zip and velcro flaps are so easy to use that any child can do their own up and I love that - quick and simple. The base of the foot is hard and I can feel confident it will e waterproof in the snow but luckily the boots do not feel too heavy. You can also see in the picture how great the sole is, loads of grip there.

The boots retail for £30.00 and I see there is free delivery on orders of £30 or more currently (until 8th Dec 2013). They are available in a child's size 5 right through to adult size 4.

As well as the boots the girls were also lucky enough to receive a fleece reversible hat and scarf each. The fleece is good quality and really kept the girls warm, there are four different designs/ colourways to choose from and you can even match up your wellies!

As you can see in the photo the small scarf is really quite small on on 6 year olds but it has a velcro fastening so it stays shut and Miss M loved that she could easily tuck it in her jacket and it just kept her neck warm without being bulky. Miss M likes to wear hers outside of her jacket so I think the larger scarf would be better for her.

The scarves (both sizes), hats and gloves or mittens all retails for £10 each and of course that makes them more expensive than most supermarket brands but they are very good quality and will easily pass from one child to the next or last multiple winters.

I'd not heard of Muddy Puddles before working with them on this review but they have a great site and their products are very good quality, I'd happily shop there again when the girls needs wellies, wet weather gear or anything else for an outdoor adventure.

Disclosure: I received the items in this post free of charge for the purpose of this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
