Giveaway - £25 Seeds from Seed Parade

Congratulations to the lucky winner @7hippopotamus.  Please DM or email me with your email and address for me to pass to Seed Parade.  Thanks, Mich x

Last year for the first time we decided to have a go at growing our own produce and I am pleased to say it went well.  We discovered that fine green beans, potatoes and carrots are all easy to grow but that corn on the cob did not really flourish in our garden.

I find it thrilling that these manky old potatoes that got forgotten in a bag and grew shoots could then be planted and grow until we dug them up and they were the most delicious salad potatoes ever.

From this....

To this....
and then these!
This year we are growing again and we are going to be a little bit more adventurous and have a second raised patch.  The seeds have already been planted for lettuce, cucumber, broccoli, carrots, peas and green beans.  Then once the rain eases off and we can get outside we will do some more spuds too.

The shoots are blossoming nicely this year and the girls have a little competition going to see whose will come up best, along with some sunflower seeds as well.

Now talking of competitions Seed Parade have kindly agreed to offer one of my lucky readers £25 of their seeds.  You can choose what you fancy and they have a nice big selection with some really interesting varieties. There are not just vegetables available but herbs and flowers too.

Seed Parade offered me some seeds to host this competition and as we have already done our planting this year I asked for a mixed selection that I am donating to the kids school.  I have to say my order arrived really quickly and in a padded envelope to protect the seeds. Each type of seeds is in its own resealable plastic bag (which is good as otherwise we tend to lose the leftover ones).  You can print the sowing instructions from their web page or if you have specific queries they are happy to assist by email and there is even a forum where you can discuss gardening.
