Thank you Lord for this new day

It's 11.10pm on Wednesday night and I am pondering a post to join in with my old linky Reasons to be Cheerful and I can't get this children's praise song out of my head, so I'll make use of it!

It is good to stay in the practise and to make sure that I am being grateful for all I have and all I can do. Today I did some training with the volunteers here and I really loved my day, it is fabulous to know that you have impacted someone and made them think differently, especially when it is about something as important as prayer.

So Lord, today I'm on my knees and I want to say thank you.

Thank you, Lord, for this new day. For the sun burning its way through the clouds, the the freshly mowed green, green grass, for the bluebells nestling in the shade in the woods, for the bright and vibrant azaleas that are everywhere and for the beautiful birdsong that lifts my mood and melts my heart.

Thank you, Lord, for this new day. For the children being at school and me having time to myself, to catch up with some work, some important administration for an exciting (and daunting) new journey and to be able to go for a walk with my camera and capture the beauty of your creation as a prayer to you.

Thank you, Lord, for this new day. For the four day weekend ahead - spending time with my family, a games afternoon, a fun barn dance, a morning at church, an afternoon with our pastoral group and then a bank holiday carnival. I can't wait to spend all this time with those I love most.

Right where we are. Lord I wouldn't change where I am, not for the world. You have placed us here and it feels perfect, not without challenges, of course, no, this is real life but it is a good life.

Alleluia, praise the Lord, Alleluia, praise the Lord, Alleluia, praise the Lord. It is so right that we should praise you Lord and it is fun too, no need for us to have to labour over praising you, it comes naturally when you are so awesome.

I think Reasons to be Cheerful is over with Jo this week but I could be wrong and it might be with Becky. go and check it out and join in too. Being grateful and looking on the right side of life makes a massive difference, just try. I promise you it works.

Wishing you a marvellous weekend, Mich x
