Slimming Sunday - Regaining My Focus

I've been worrying about this post since the beginning of the week when I realised this weekend was the first weekend of the month and I'd suggested to Emma that would be a good time for our #SlimmingSunday linky to publish. We were doing it weekly but in truth hardly anyone was joining in and we wondered if people didn't want to write a post quite so regularly and thus have changed to become a monthly linky.

From now there will be a Slimming Sunday linky every first Sunday of the month and it will be over on Life According to Mrs Shilts and here with me too.

So you might wonder why this post has been playing on my mind, its not as if it is a difficult or controversial subject to write about but it's about me feeling bad, sad, guilty, ashamed, whatever it is that I'm feeling as I haven't lost any weight since I posted my last Slimming Sunday post and even worse than that I've not really done anything positive towards sorting myself out.

I'm not quite sure what's up right now but I'm obviously not in the right place to be really focusing on healthy eating and exercise in an effort to lose some of this weight. For one reason or another, or perhaps it is one excuse or another I've hardly been to my Monday night fit club, I haven't focused on my walking and my step count has dramatically reduced and I've been eating whatever I like.
I suppose what I need to do is go back to setting myself small steps so I can build up to doing all the things I need to so that I can shift the 8 stone that is sitting on my body making me ill. I looked back on my past Slimming Sunday posts tonight and I'm around the same weight I was when I started this linky back in March and that feels a bit crap to be honest. Four months and no progress. But what do I expect when I make minimal effort?

I've mentioned before that I have some health problems at the moment that are not helping me to lose weight but I have faced up to them all and seen my doctor. I had the first appointment with her a couple of weeks back and bloods taken this last week and then a pelvic scan on the 7th July, an MOT at the doctors on 10th July, an appointment with a gynae for a colposcopy on 21st July and an MRI scan on my foot on 11th July.

Maybe this is why I can't focus on slimming at the moment, it just feels like a lot going on in a short space of time, but it all has to happen and if I get some answers and results that mean change then I pray that my losing weight can follow.

But I feel like I have wallowed quite enough in this post and I'll set my small targets and move on!

Targets for this week
  • 7 hours sleep per night
  • 2 litres of water drunk a day
  • Take at least a 20 minute walk every day
  • Honestly record everything I eat
