Review & Giveaway: Oqibo Skincare Products

Congratulations to Elaine Savage, you won the skincare set and Louise Anderton you won the scented candle.

I've got a confession to make to you all dear readers. I'm a really naughty girl. I'm now 40 years old and I have been committing this sin for probably near on 20 years now. There have been odd times when I have come to my senses and a few months have seen me toeing the line and doing as I should but in the main I'm renegade and I just go bare!

'Bare?' I hear you shout, yes fresh-faced as opposed to bare bodied (I do not even want to think about that). I just can't be bothered to go through the faff of putting together a skincare regime, I know it is essential and I'll look like an old hag when I am 60 but it has just never been top of my priorities.

I think I must be incredibly lucky as people have often commented on how nice my skin is and asked what I use and when I tell them £1 for 25 make-up remover wipes they are always very surprised! I do realise the time has come to change my ways though, I don't want to be any more liney than I have to and I think my skin is drying out with age.

So when an email arrived in my box from the professional skincare brand, Oqibo I thought yes I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I'd not heard of Oqibo before but then given my lack of skincare product usage that is not really a surprise. I took a look at their website expecting to find a new retailer and was thrilled to see they have already sold over 6 million products, I was obviously getting a quality product come out to me. The philosophy of the company is 'Happy. Remarkable. You' and how fab is that?

Oqibo just sell a small range of products and this obviously means they are experts in their area. There is the skin care and supplements and then some very classy scented candles. I was lucky to receive two products to try out -

Purifying Cleanser and Toner

It appealed to me that this is a 2 in 1 product as it felt as if I could do one step less in my nightly beauty regime. As you can see in the picture it is a clear pinky gel and you don't need too much. You put it in your hand and add a little water and then foam it up and apply in small circular motions to you face. You can then wash off with your hands or a flannel.

It has a light and pleasant smell and is really kind to your eyes, I've not had any sting at all. It general it has been really good at removing my make-up and making my face feel fresh and tight afterwards. On a couple of occasions when I have been out day & evening and had reapplied mascara it has struggled to get off every last bit without the help of a flannel but I'm still pleased.

The purifying cleanser and toner retails for £23.65 for 150mls but at the moment they have a special offer and it is 250ml for the same price.

Here are the details from Oquibo -
  • Super-effective cleansing without dryness or irritation
  • Triple-action formulation
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Purifies, mattifies & tones
  • Whisks away stubborn make-up, dirt and grime
  • Restores essential minerals
Hydra Restore Cream
I think moisturiser is the thing I needed most in terms of trying to preserve my skin for old age but as mentioned before I'm lucky and do not have particularity dry or dehydrated skin, so I opted for the lighter day moisturiser from their range - the Hydra Restore Cream. This retails for £33.15 for 100ml and I think it would last a very long time as the smallest amount really does work. You can use this day and night or just once a day. I've always been dubious of moisturiser in the morning as I want to work quickly and apply my make-up straight away without it sliding off my face. Result, I can with the Hydra Restore as it is absorbed so quickly.

My face was left feeling soft, fresh and just really vibrant after use and I'll be happy to keep using this on a long-term basis.

This is what Oqibo say about their Hydra restore Cream -
  • Delivers immediate hydration Restores & restructures skin with regular daily use
  • Maintains & improves moisture reserves long term
  • Improves texture, suppleness and strength
  • Key Ingredients: Shea Butter, Glasswort oil and Jojoba
I see that when you purchase any products from Oqibo they come gift wrapped in tissue and a beautiful sleek grey box and I think that gives the quality feel. You also receive free samples of their products which I liked, it is a good chance to see what suits you.

Orders under £40 are £2.50 sent by tracked Royal Mail and I think that is a more than fair price. Then if you spend over £40 it is free - bargain!

I've enjoyed using my products and I'm happy to endorse them and say they are working for me.
