See you after Lent! I'll miss you....

Hey all,

I made a decision yesterday that I would give up blogging for Lent, that is both reading and writing. This is going to be pretty tough for me as I have grown really attached to blurting everything out on here and very addicted to knowing what is going on in other Mummy bloggers lives. I got a tag yesterday for a handbag meme from Jen at the Mad House (thank you, maaww) and it would be so tempting to do this as it makes me feel part of the gang but I will come back to it in 6 weeks after Easter.

After feeling so hurt yesterday that I did not make the carnival I realised that I am putting too much energy into blogging. It is not who reads or comments on my blog that makes me who I am, it is how much I value myself and my relationship with God and those around me who love me that counts. So I will be having a bit of time away from the PC and spending more time with myself, God, dh and the kids. Lent is 6 and a half weeks, so it is a fair while I will be away, please don't desert me I would love to see you again when I return and hopefully I will come back a more balanced person and perhaps even a few pounds lighter (as I intend to try for abstinence from compulsive overeating again).

Lent is a time when us Christians choose to try and follow the example of Jesus when he was in the dessert. It is a time to give up luxuries or exercise self-discipline with the aim of spending more focused time with God. So for me I am giving up the obsession of blogging. When I am not on here reading or writing I am thinking about it, so this frees me for a short time to re-focus my energies and to come back to blogging with a far healthier attitude towards it all.

.....but what will you do? Do I hear you cry?

Don't worry about me, aside from working I have a ton of stuff to keep me busy, least of all three little monkey's - here is what we did yesterday for example -

I'm also reading a good book at the moment, called the No diet diet which is written by a guy I work with and is all about breaking your bad habits and doing something differently to re-program your thinking. Very interesting.
Then of course there is the Marriage course that dh and I started on Monday night. This goes on for 7 weeks and we really enjoyed ourselves on Monday. Learning and a few new things about each other and just having a chance to chat and be together. We have our first date planned for Saturday night. I am cooking us a nice curry and we have some homework to do together.
So I will miss you new friends, but like Arnie says 'I'll be back!'. (Gosh if anything was ever going to put you off reading my blog ever again, it has to be that!!! lol)
